A Legacy Story is more than just a video diary; it's a deeply personal, cinematic journey through your life. It's like an autobiography, but instead of reading words on a page, you get to tell your story in your own voice, sharing your memories, your experiences, and the essence of

who you are.

Through this process, your loved ones will not only hear your words, but they'll also see you - your mannerisms, your laughter, your expressions, and the unique qualities that make you, well, you.

I’ll guide you back as far as your memories go and beyond, delving into the stories passed down by your parents or grandparents. Together, we'll piece together your timeline - starting with your grandparents, moving through your parents' lives, and then focusing on your own journey.

Along the way, we’ll explore the relationships that shaped you. You’ll have the chance to describe the people closest to you: their appearances, their personalities, and the highs and lows of your connections with them - whether good or bad.

We’ll touch on every aspect of your life - schooling, family holidays, relationships, that first kiss, who taught you to ride a bike or drive a car, and all the triumphs, failures, and defining moments in between. It’s your chance to capture the full picture of your journey, and tell your story exactly the way you want to.

This video diary is something you can share with loved ones - whenever and however you choose. Whether it’s a treasured keepsake for your family or a personal reflection to revisit later in life, the Legacy Story gives you the freedom to relive your memories on your own terms.

The final video can range anywhere from 2 hours to just over 5 hours, depending on how much of your story you'd like to share. At the end of our session, you'll have the opportunity to share photos of the people mentioned in your Legacy Story, so your loved ones can see the faces behind the memories.

I was completely taken by surprise when my youngest son David simply informed me that he and my elder son Michael had arranged for Terence to vist me the very next day to do a video of me sharing my lifes experiences. The idea was that in years to come our grandchildren wanting to know about their grandfather would then have a ready made video on which I would personally appear and tell my life story.
Having introduced himself and after setting up his camera equipment and started to ask in the most friendly manner, questions about my life.

I’m not very comfortable talking to a camera.

The beauty of the Legacy Story is that you never actually have to talk to the camera. You’ll be having a relaxed, casual conversation with me, and the camera is simply there to capture our chat. I’ll ask questions, you’ll answer, and we’ll just go with the flow. Before you know it, you’ll forget the camera is even there, and we’ll be deep into your story.

Where will this interview take place?

I always come to you, and ideally, we’ll meet in a place where you feel most comfortable - your home. This is your story, and it's important for the viewer to see you in your natural environment, at the stage in life you're in right now. It's all about creating a space where you feel at ease, so you can share your memories and experiences freely.

Do I need to prepare anything?

Yes, I’ll provide you with some simple "homework" ahead of time. It's nothing too complicated - just a few tasks like organising photos, jotting down key names, or remembering some important moments you definitely don’t want to leave out. These little prompts will help jog your memory and ensure we capture all the important details of your story.

Do we do everything in one sitting?

Yes, we typically cover everything in one session. We’ll dive deep into your life and let the conversation flow naturally, so by the end, you’ll have shared your entire journey without feeling rushed.

I think I’m not very interesting and don’t have much to talk about?

You’d be surprised! Everyone’s life is filled with unique moments, and you have more stories to tell than you might realise. What you may think of as ordinary could be incredibly meaningful to others. You are much more interesting than you give yourself credit for, and your experiences matter.

Do we take breaks?

Yes, we’ll take a few short breaks - just enough for a cup of tea or to stretch our legs. These breaks help keep the energy up and give you a chance to relax before diving back into your story.

Do I need to remember exact dates?

Not at all! In fact, I prefer that you focus on general timeframes rather than specific dates. For example, it's more natural to say "I was around 10 years old" than to pinpoint an exact date. This makes it easier for your audience to visualise and connect with your story.

What if I say something that I feel shouldn’t be included?

No problem at all! Before anyone else sees the video, I’ll send you a copy to review. If there’s anything you’d like removed or changed, just let me know, and I’ll make the edits before you share it with others.

Do you share this with anyone or any social media platforms?

Absolutely not. Your Legacy Story is private and personal. The only people who will ever see it is the person who hired me, you, and anyone you choose to share it with.
